A producer’s reflection on vision, collaboration, and creating timeless holiday music.

When October rolled in, Poeticlee felt a pull — not toward rushing another release, but toward creating something timeless, something that would last far beyond the season. That spark became A Poetic RNB Christmas, the debut album from the Poetic RNB music agency, a project designed to end 2025 with intention and introduce the sound that will define Poetic RNB’s releases heading into 2026.

The goal wasn’t just to “make a Christmas album.”The goal was to create holiday music that returns every year, music rooted in real artistry, real collaboration, and real soul.

What unfolded was a multi-genre, multi-energy collective of artists who each brought their own magic.

KamDoja — “Sexy Santa”

The first collaboration of the album started with Poeticlee sending beats to KamDoja, searching for the perfect spark. When she landed on the right one, they knew instantly — the energy was electric.

“Sexy Santa” became a house record with a vibrant, eclectic, dance-floor pulse. It set the bar for the album’s quality, tone, and excitement. This song told Poeticlee one thing clearly:

The album wasn’t just going to be good — it was going to be alive.

Kay Marion — “Luxury 12” (feat. Kolin, King, & Matt on Sax)

“Luxury 12” began with a writing session — the kind that shifts the entire project’s direction. Poeticlee and Kay shaped the record together before stepping into Storyteller Sound to bring in live instrumentation:

  • Kolin on guitar

  • King on drums

  • Matt on Sax adding warmth and texture

Engineered by David Roland, the final result was a grown, dynamic, luxury-smooth record that expanded the emotional palette of the album. It’s elegant, rich, soulful — exactly what its title suggests.

Drumma — “Presents”

When Poeticlee brought Drumma in, the energy changed instantly. Drumma didn’t write. He didn’t overthink. He freestyled the entire record and brought something genuine.

“Presents” became a raw, authentic moment on the album — complete with chopped vocal samples and Drumma’s signature flow. Poeticlee called it “top-notch”, and it added the perfect vibey spark the project needed.

Aaliyah Divine — “Cozy”

Aaliyah Divine stepped into the album with a song that felt warm from the first note. Her angelic voice melted onto the production effortlessly, bringing softness, tradition, and warmth.

“Cozy” feels like a record that has always existed — classic, honest, and authentic to her. It added the intimate heartbeat the album needed.

Ariana Iverson — “Cold Christmas” (Spoken Word)

This spoken-word piece has a story of its own. Poeticlee recorded Ariana Iverson’s poem two years ago, intending it for a different holiday project. When he revisited it during this album’s creation, he knew:

“This belongs here.”

Ariana’s delivery speaks to the highs, lows, nostalgia, and reflection of the season. It’s the emotional anchor of the entire project — the “poetic” in A Poetic R&B Christmas.

Jade The Muse — “Santa Honey”

Jade The Muse brought a jazz sophistication that stretched Poeticlee creatively. They spent two hours perfecting the drums alone — pushing for a sonic pocket that felt intentional, gritty, and atmospheric.

The result? A New York underground speakeasy vibe, euphoric and smoky, giving the album its cinematic edge. Poeticlee engineered this record himself, matching Jade’s artistry with precision.

Poeticlee — “The Gift” & “Holiday Drip”

To open and close the album, Poeticlee added two records of his own:

“The Gift”

A warm, grounding intro that sets the emotional tone of the project.

“Holiday Drip”

A dance-driven house record intentionally placed at the end to align with KamDoja’s “Sexy Santa.” It ties the album together, bringing listeners full circle.

David Roland — The Sound Architect

Seven of the eight records were engineered by David Roland, whose ear shaped the cohesion and warmth of the project. From live instruments to vocals to drum pockets, David ensured the album felt unified and premium.

Poeticlee engineered “Santa Honey” and his own track, completing the personal, intimate touch on the project.
